Neil Shulman, MD, an Associate Professor at Emory University School of Medicine, has authored or co-authored over 20 books.
His books have spun off into a variety of movies and organizations, such as the movie, Doc Hollywood (with Michael J. Fox), the health education video High Blood Pressure (with Arthur Ashe), an international medical society: International Society on Hypertension for Blacks, an international program providing wishes for seniors: Second Wind Dreams, INC, a nationally distributed series of public television health education spots for kids, and a web-based health education site for your body's RED LIGHT warning signals..
Neil is also a performer, movie producer, researcher and speaker. He is the founder of Patch Adam M.D. & Gesundheit! Institute and Worldplay, Inc, a non-profit organization that celebrates the creativity of children around the world through the toys they make and play with! He was selected to receive the 2006 Alvarez Award by the American Association of Medical Writers.
