Janet Mullany was born and raised in England by half of an amateur string quartet to whom she is grateful for her inherited love of music. Persecuted from an early age for reading too long in the family's only bathroom, she was and still is an avid booklover. She’s worked as an archaeologist, draftsperson, performing arts publicist, classical music radio announcer, and editor/proofreader for a small press. She started writing fiction in 2001 and finaled in RWA’s prestigious Golden Heart contest in 2003. Her first novel Dedication (Signet Regency, 2005) has won several awards including the 2006 Golden Leaf and the 2006 All About Romance Readers’ Award for best regency. Janet also writes erotic historicals under the name of Jane Lockwood.
