Brenda Cooper writes science fiction and fantasy short fiction and novels.
Her novels include the Endeavor Award-winning solo debut THE SILVER SHIP ANDTHE SEA, and a sequel, READING THE WIND.  A third book in the series, WINGSOF CREATION, will be out from Tor books in November 2009.  Brenda he has also published a collaboration with Larry Niven, BUILDING HARLEQUIN'S MOON, also from Tor Books.  Her short fiction, solo and in collaboration withLarry Niven, has appeared in Nature, Analog, Asimov's, Strange Horizons, the Salal Review, and in multiple anthologies. Brenda is a futurist, and works with noted futurist Glen Hiemstra.  Her non-fiction futurist work can be found on Glen's Futurist.com site.  A frequent public speaker about the future, Brenda likes to engage audiences in conversations about the future. She lives in Bellevue, Washington, and works as the CIO for the City of Kirkland.
