Foreign publishers interested in UK or translation rights to specific books by the authors listed on Spectrum's main page can write to this address as well, or send a fax, and we will promptly refer queries to appropriate agencies. Spectrum's policy is to read only book-length manuscripts that we have specifically asked to see. Unsolicited manuscripts are not accepted. Anyone interested in representation must send a query letter* with a return stamped (not metered ), self-addressed envelope to: Eleanor Wood or Justin Bell
The letter should describe your book briefly and include publishing credits and background information or qualifications relating to your work, if any. You may also include a copy of the first 5-10 pages of your work. Our response time is generally 1-3 months. * Spectrum will not accept/respond to queries that arrive by fax, e-mail, or telephone. All queries MUST be sent through the mail. |
